NEW TRANSPARENCY RULES FOR INTERMEDIARIES IN TAX PLANNING

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION HAS PROPOSED NEW RULES REGARDING TRANSPARENCY FOR INTERMEDIARIES - SUCH AS TAX ADVISORS, ACCOUNTANTS, BANKS AND LAWYERS - WHO DESIGN AND PROMOTE TAX PLANNING SCHEMES FOR THEIR CLIENTS.

The proposal aims to tackle aggressive tax planning by increasing scrutiny around the previously-unseen activities of tax planners and advisers.

In the form of an amendment to the Directive for Administration Cooperation, the European Commission will submit the proposal to the European Parliament.
